University Park - Denver, CO

This retail project included renovation, as well as new construction. Located at the corner of Colorado Blvd. and Evans Ave. in Denver, University Park consists of five retail buildings. One of the unique challenges of this project was the underground detention basins located under a porous concrete parking lot. Brinkmann constructed 16,000 SF of new retail while renovating 50,000 SF of retail space left vacant when a local grocer closed their doors. The first tenant to open its doors in the new complex was an Office Depot on September 15, 2007. Verizon Wireless and Wells Fargo followed the lead within the next 2 months. Brinkmann Constructors also performed the TI work for a Vitamin Cottage. The second phase, consisting of approximately 22,000 SF of additional retail space is now complete as well.
